Parmesan Pita Crisps
The Oaks at Ojai

Makes 24 two piece servings, 30 Calories per serving

Ingredients:

  • 6 mini whole wheat pitas
  • 2 T. parmesan cheese, grated

Preparation:
Cut pitas into quarters and split.

Lay cut pitas rough side up on a cookie sheet, close together.

Sprinkle cheese over pita pieces and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes to brown and crisp.

Serve as a bread or cracker with soup or salad.

NOTE: For those of us who enjoy bread but like to watch our fat calories, these are superb. They have so much flavor and crunch that no one feels the need to add butter. If you choose to cut the pitas into sixths, the calories go down to 10 per crisp. We sometimes skip the Parmesan and use the resulting crackers as chips for dips.
